Revival from playing with only the left hand Pianist Fleischer dies on August 4, 0:1

An American pianist, Leon Fleischer, who died on the 2nd, after sickness and the finger of his right hand did not move, but he was treated and rehabilitated and revived his playing activities with both hands for the first time in about 30 years. I was 92 years old.

Leon Fleischer was born in San Francisco, California, Western USA in 1928 and started playing the piano at the age of four.

At the age of 16, he co-starred with the world-famous orchestra New York Philharmonic and was the first American to win the Belgian Queen Elizabeth International Music Competition in 1952.

However, in the mid-1960s, when he was making a successful career, he was forced to give up playing with both hands because his right finger became stuck due to a nervous disease.

Still, Mr. Fleischer did not give up, he continued to play with his left hand, and he played an active role as a conductor and started teaching and moving backwards.

Approximately 30 years after the fingers of the right hand became immobile, the effects of treatment and rehabilitation became apparent, and the fingers became movable. In 1995, I resumed playing with both hands.

According to US media, Fleischer died on the 2nd at a facility in Baltimore, eastern Maryland, where he was being treated for cancer. I was 92 years old.
