"I want to create a famous Chinese wine brand in the world." said Chen Deqi, a returning Chinese businessman in an interview with a reporter from Chinanews.com on the 17th.

Chen Deqi was born in Fujian and started his business in Thailand. After returning to China, he forged an indissoluble bond with Ningxia.

"14 years ago, as a representative of Fujian merchants, I came to Ningxia through the cooperation of Fujian and Ningxia. I saw the Gobi Desert on the eastern foot of Helan Mountain and decided to develop the wine industry here." Chen Deqi said, Ningxia is located at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain. From 37° to 39° north latitude, it is located in the “golden” zone of grape growing in the world, with abundant sunshine, large temperature difference between day and night, and the soil is rich in minerals. This “desert beach” in the eyes of others is what he believes in growing wine grapes. Treasure Land".

After making up his mind, Chen Deqi bought 100,000 acres of Gobi Desert in Ningxia and began to develop wasteland and build a wine estate.

Facing the vast Gobi Desert, Chen Deqi also suffered.

"It is easy to buy land and open up wasteland. I can only start from scratch, learn seedling cultivation techniques, and figure out how to find water and connect electricity on the Gobi Desert." Chen Deqi said, he once "lived in" a simple house next to the vineyard. In the slab house, the employees were brought together to push the ground, wind-proof and sand-fix, and plant grapes.

Through Chen Deqi's efforts, up to now, the Ningxia Helanshen International Winery he manages has developed nearly 50,000 acres of wasteland and planted 40,000 acres of various high-standard organic wine grapes.

After developing the Gobi Desert as a winery, Chen Deqi began to pursue the "purple dream" lingering in his heart for a long time-to build a world-renowned Chinese wine brand.

To this end, he carefully selected grafted seedlings from abroad, hired French winemaking experts with high salaries to guide him, and constantly improved the grape planting and brewing techniques.

Today, the wines produced by Chen Deqi’s winery have won gold medals in the 23rd, 24th, and 26th Brussels International Wine Competition, Paris Gilbert Competition, and “Belt and Road” International Wine Competition. Representing Chinese wines in the Louvre exhibition tour in France for two consecutive years, making Chinese wines famous.

At present, the eastern foothills of Helan Mountain in Ningxia have become one of the industry's recognized golden areas for growing wine grapes and producing high-end wines. The comprehensive output value of the wine industry exceeds RMB 26 billion.

In the process of promoting Chinese wine to the world, Chen Deqi also has new plans.

"I plan to invest in the construction of an eco-industrial park integrating organic eco-tourism, wine health, leisure, and organic agricultural tourism in the next 5 to 8 years, and build 20 wineries with different styles from various countries in the world, forming a unique international Winery Museum City." Chen Deqi said, hoping to make more people feel the wine culture, and also let the world take a look at Chinese wine. (over)
