The Tianwen-1 probe was successfully launched on July 23, 2020. After successfully orbiting Mars on February 10, 2021, it has successively completed key flight control tasks such as pre-detection of the landing zone, orbit maintenance, and self-checking.

On May 15, 2021, the Tianwen-1 probe successfully landed on Mars, achieving my country's first extraterrestrial planet landing.

On May 22, the Zhurong rover safely drove away from the landing platform, reached the surface of Mars, and began to patrol and explore.

The Tianwen-1 mission has broken through key technologies such as the second cosmic speed launch, interplanetary flight, measurement and control communications, and soft landing on extraterrestrial planets. It is another significant milestone in the development of China's aerospace industry.

The relevant person in charge of the Fifth Academy stated that my country's first Mars exploration mission was formally approved in 2016, and it is planned to realize Mars orbit, land and patrol through a mission.

Since the establishment of the project, as the chief research and development unit of the Tianwen-1 Mars probe, the Fifth Academy has completed this mission with high aerospace development capabilities and scientific research organization capabilities with high quality, high efficiency and high efficiency, which demonstrates the Fifth Academy as a spaceflight mission. The strong strength of the career "national team" is a vivid manifestation of China Aerospace's achievement of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance.
