The customs services of Guadeloupe have communicated the figures of seizures made during the year 2021. The quantity of illegal goods intercepted is increasing.

Customs officers also got their hands on a ton of narcotics during the year.
It was mostly cocaine, produced nearby.
Two operations marked the spirits: The seizure of 580 kg of drugs on a catamaran and that of 247 kg of narcotics concealed in a container.
Protected animals and tobacco
Animals belonging to 54 protected species were discovered, including royal pythons and helmeted chameleons, said Philippe Richard, regional director of Customs.
Tobacco smuggling has also resulted in significant catches.
Between 2020 and 2021, traffic for this product has increased by 180%.
2.75 tonnes were intercepted by customs officers during transport or resale.
