With more warnings about extreme weather, including forest fires, the importance of a functioning emergency preparedness is of the utmost importance, writes Värend's rescue service in a press release.

During the autumn, the recruitment campaign will, among other things, appear on social media and via advertisements.

- You should primarily be interested in making a community contribution and want to help, both with preventive work and in case of accidents.

Many employers are positive about employees who have expertise in prevention and operational rescue work, says Hans Fransson.

More are needed for the profession

Of Sweden's more than 15,000 firefighters, the majority are employed as part-time firefighters.

- It is necessary that we succeed in recruiting more firefighters part-time to be able to cope with future accidents and crises.

They make invaluable efforts, not only in fires but also in traffic accidents, for example, says Hans Fransson.
