Recently, 63 African penguins were found dead on a beach near Cape Town.

The South African Coastal Birds Foundation conducted an autopsy and a disease and poison test, and found that each penguin had multiple sting marks and no other injuries.

Foundation veterinarian David Roberts said that these penguins belong to the same community, live in the same national park, are protected, and are unlikely to die in large numbers for no reason.

This national park is also a habitat for cape bees.

African penguins are listed on the Red List of Endangered Species issued by the World Conservation Union and belong to the endangered level.

Roberts said it was "very rare" that a bee stung a penguin.
