Bundestag President Schäuble spoke of a "shame".
That weekend, the entire government district was hermetically sealed, and the unauthorized elevator moved to less symbolic places.
But again there was violence, mobbing against police officers and journalists.
Needless to say, masks were not seen and clearances were not maintained.
Supposedly for freedom?
But the “lateral thinkers” really don't have much to do with that.
They do not face the discourse about the pros and cons of the individual measures, the distribution of burdens, the difficult relationship between the state's duty to protect and individual responsibility.
Markus Söder is right: For many lateral thinkers, it's not about vaccination, but about a different state.
The scene is heterogeneous, the goals of right-wing extremists, Reich citizens, left-wing extremists and radicalized esotericists are by no means congruent.
But they all agree on one thing: the “new order” has little to do with the democratic constitutional state and its achievements.
The events in Berlin provide new confirmation that the Office for the Protection of the Constitution was right to observe parts of the lateral thinker movement.
