It was in mid-February that the incident occurred at Bullerforsen in Borlänge.
The two men are said to have known each other before and the now accused man is said to have stabbed the victim with a sharp object against the neck and body.
He is now being prosecuted by the Falun District Court for attempted murder or aggravated assault.
According to the indictment, it was coincidence that the crime was not completed when the blow was aimed at the neck.
The suspect was arrested in his absence a week after the incident, as it took a while before the police and prosecutors obtained the correct identity.
He could not be arrested until the beginning of March.
The 21-year-old suspect denies the crime, but admits that the course of events looked as described in the indictment.
