A League Cup and a Cup had ideally begun to line the 2022 compartment of Liverpool's trophy cabinet.

But the Reds, of course, were aiming higher, the Premier League championship and the Champions League for an unprecedented quadruple.

Since Sunday, the friends of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané have had to say goodbye to

the Premier League title

won by their rival Manchester City for the fourth time in six years.

But the season is not over and the Egyptian and the Senegalese can still dream of a second Champions League after that of 2019 won against Tottenham (2-0).

Mané, the fit man

The two Africans from Liverpool will once again be the Reds' first assets in their quest for a hat-trick.

Mohamed Salah, crowned with his title of top scorer in the Premier League (23 goals) tied with Korean Tottenham, Heung-min Son, is expected to blast the Madrid defense.

The Pharaoh, arrested for 15 days, returns at the moment for the end of the season.

At his side, Sadio Mané, the man in form of Liverpool in recent weeks.

The Senegalese African champion finished the championship with 16 goals, including 11 in his last 13 matches.

The Reds winger, repositioned centre-forward, may be living his last days with the Mersey club as the information that gives him starting, one year from the end of his contract, is increasing.

The number 10 of Liverpool will still want to win his second Champions League, just to leave with his head held high and, incidentally, to give himself a chance for the Ballon d'Or which seems promised to the Frenchman from Real Madrid Karim Benzema.
