June 18, 2021A "class action" by 34 women against Pornhub: the accusation is "of having published videos in which they suffer rape and sexual abuse, in some cases when they were minors". An accusation not new for the digital pornography giant, already raised a few years ago by an article in the New York Times on child pornography and rape.

The women's lawyers point out that the goal "is not pornography" but "a classic criminal enterprise" whose business model is based on the exploitation of non-consensual sexual content for profit and, in the case of the fourteen who were minors, era of violence, of "sexual trafficking of minors".

All the protagonists of this story agree that Pornhub would have taken advantage of the videos made available - by ex-boyfriends or molesters - without their knowledge and therefore without consent. Hence the request for compensation for the damage suffered.

One of them, who intends to remain anonymous, said she discovered in 2014 the publication on Pornhub of a "sexually explicit" video that her boyfriend had forced her to make when she was only 13 years old. And despite the name being unambiguous, the footage remained available until the teenager, posing as his mother, asked the site to remove it. The operation took several weeks and even during that time it would not be overshadowed.

According to the women's lawyers, the Mindgeek company owns more than 100 specialized porn sites and production houses, including Pornhub, Redtube, Tube8 and Youporn, for a total of 3.5 billion visits per month.
