“Today we are on the verge of a huge gas and energy crisis,” RIA Novosti quotes Moravetsky.

He stated this at the plenary session of the European Parliament, which holds a debate on the rule of law in Poland.

According to him, the strength of the crisis could shake Europe in the coming weeks.

"Many enterprises can go bankrupt, and millions of households, tens of millions of families, the gas crisis can lead to poverty due to uncontrolled price increases throughout Europe," added Morawiecki.

Earlier, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said that the European Union considers the increase in energy prices in Europe to be a geopolitical problem.
