The amount involved in selling fake brand-name shoes and clothing in the live broadcast room exceeds 300 million

The police cracked two live-streaming cases of counterfeiting and seized more than 220,000 pairs of counterfeit brand-name shoes and more than 12,000 pieces of brand-name clothing

In the past two years, there has been a rise in live streaming, and recently it coincides with the "Double Eleven". Many people are used to snapping up big-name clothing and shoes with limited discounts in the live broadcast rooms.

But you may not have thought that the big names sold in the live broadcast room may also be fake.

In recent days, the police in many places have jointly cracked two cases of manufacturing and selling counterfeit products, controlled dozens of criminal suspects, and seized more than 220,000 pairs of counterfeit brand-name shoes and more than 12,000 pieces of brand-name clothing, with a case value of over 300 million yuan.

Beijing News recently, public security agencies in Jiangsu, Fujian and other places have cracked two cases of selling counterfeit registered trademarks. In these cases, the suspects have sold goods through social platforms and live webcasts.

Fake brand-name clothes and shoes are sold to more than 20 provinces

On September 6 this year, the Jianhu police in Yancheng received a report from a woman who bought a branded men's jacket from a social platform account and found that the clothes looked like fakes.

After a series of investigations and evidence collection, on October 21 this year, the Jianhu police in Yancheng drew more than 60 police officers. Together with the public security agencies in Guangdong and Zhejiang, they also collected the Internet. At present, 8 major suspects have been arrested and the counterfeit production and sale dens have been destroyed. In 6 cases, more than 12,000 pieces of counterfeit brand-name clothing were seized on the spot, with a case value of more than 160 million yuan.

The police found that the sales network of this counterfeit gang involved more than 20 provinces (cities) with a case value of more than 160 million yuan, which seriously violated the rights of brand owners and disrupted the order of the market economy.

Also on October 21st, the public security organs of Ningde and Zhouning of Fujian, together with the public security organs of Guangzhou and Putian, launched a unified network collection operation against the “6.23” online sales of counterfeit registered trademarks, and successfully arrested criminal suspects. 62 people seized more than 220,000 pairs of counterfeit brand finished and semi-finished shoes, more than 760,000 yuan in cash involved, and more than 5 million yuan in illegal funds.

After investigation, the sales scope of this counterfeit gang involved 20 provinces and cities across the country, with a case value of more than 150 million yuan.

Currently, relevant criminal suspects have been taken criminal coercive measures.

Live broadcast and Moments become the main sales channels

"The 2020 new models are sold simultaneously, with a full set of genuine original box packaging, original shoe production technology and embedded NFC anti-counterfeiting chip, but the sales price is less than 10% of the genuine." Would you not be impressed when you see such "branded products" in the circle of friends?

In June of this year, the Economic Investigation Brigade of the Zhouning County Public Security Bureau of Ningde City, Fujian Province received a report from the masses that it found a social platform account selling famous shoes on the Internet.

The police research found that the suspect Su and others were selling a variety of counterfeit brand shoes in Putian through the account.

Some of the shoes it sells are even products that have not yet been put on the market by brand manufacturers.

Police handling the case told reporters that their further investigation found that the suspect Guo and others set up two studios in Putian to wholesale counterfeit shoes of well-known brands, and the production den was located in Guangdong.

"The lawbreakers keep up with the trend of the Internet. In addition to selling fakes through social platforms, they also set up studios to recruit young and beautiful women to carry out live webcast delivery services."

In the case uncovered in Yancheng, Jiangsu, the suspect conducted sales through multiple channels online and offline.

The policeman handling the case stated that the suspect Li had an online store, and the clothes on the shelves were all unlicensed. When a customer bought clothes, Li would recommend that the customer add his social platform account to buy clothes. The account posted a large number of pictures of brand-name clothes for sale. The clothes are all counterfeit brands.

Li is just one of several offline in this case.

The main suspect, Huang, has his own clothing design company. After the counterfeit brand clothing is produced, Huang arranges for someone to deliver the goods to the clothing store stalls and sell them through social platforms and live webcasts.

  Secret 1

  Buy authentic clothes for tailors

In the process of investigating the case, the police found that most of the shoes sold by the suspects were new models in 2020, and some shoes and even brand manufacturers have launched products that have not yet been marketed.

According to the police handling the case, after the criminals bought the genuine products, they hired professionals to dismantle them layer by layer, and used the computer to open a pattern to produce high-fake shoes.

The products are divided into three grades: good, medium and poor, and they are publicly sold, and they are said to be of good quality enough to replace the genuine products of the specialty store in a single way.

The same was true in the Yancheng case. Huang bought genuine clothes and gave tailors "patterns", and then bought the corresponding fabrics, accessories, and trademarks on the market to make fake garment samples. After the samples were made successfully, they would purchase according to the order quantity. Corresponding fabrics, trademarks, tags, hardware, buttons, etc., allow workers to mass produce various counterfeit brand clothing.

  Secret 2

  Concealed means of adulteration

In the case cracked by Ningde, in order to reduce the risk of being investigated and dealt with, criminals separated the production, storage, wholesale, and retail links of the criminal chain of manufacturing and selling fake shoes into different areas through the Internet, forming a cross-regional criminal network of manufacturing and selling fake shoes.

At the same time, the fictitious delivery address is used to make the source of fake shoes more confusing, and the authenticity of fake shoes is improved from the address.

"Suspects are sometimes mixed with genuine and fake products, but some are trademarked and some are not trademarked, making it more difficult to obtain evidence," said the policeman handling the case.

In cases detected in Yancheng, suspects are sometimes sold under the OEM label. The police on the special case told reporters that their OEM methods are mainly divided into two types: one is to paste their own registered trademark on the surface of the counterfeit trademark. The first layer of the trademark can be torn off; the second is to add a letter after the fake brand-name trademark, and the customer only needs to tear off the extra letters after receiving the goods.
