Police officers are sentenced to prison for aggravated drunk driving and gross negligence in traffic

Several vehicles had to brake and steer away so as not to collide with the police officer.

Eventually he ended up in the right direction again and could be stopped by the police.

Could have ended worse

The district court finds that the incident is serious and could have had significantly more severe consequences if the witnesses had not acted and warned other motorists.

Punishment other than imprisonment is excluded, according to the court, which at the same time considers that the police officer has received treatment for alcohol abuse and that he risks not being allowed to keep his job in the event of a conviction.
