According to RIA Novosti, the IAEA has previously reported a slight increase in the concentration of radioactive isotopes in the atmosphere over northern European countries. At the same time, the organization noted that this does not pose a danger to humans and the environment.

In May, a fire broke out at the Polish National Center for Nuclear Research. No radioactive contamination was detected at the site of the accident.
