PC cafe owners who are frustrated with "Why can't I eat food even though there is a C-shaped partition?"

PC cafe owners, which are excluded from COVID-19'high-risk facilities' and are operating on a limited basis, are demanding additional measures, such as allowing food intake and reducing electricity bills.

According to the game industry on the 17th, the Korea Internet PC Culture Association met with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and KEPCO officials the day before and delivered an official letter requesting a reduction in electricity bills during the ban on operating a PC room.

PC rooms in the metropolitan area have been closed since the 18th of last month, and PC rooms in the non-metropolitan area have been closed for nearly a month since the 22nd of last month.

From the 14th of this month, PC cafes were removed from high-risk facilities and business resumed.

However, entry of minors is prohibited and food cannot be sold or consumed.

The'PC Cafe Special Countermeasure Committee', organized by PC cafe officials such as the Internet PC Culture Association, held a press conference in front of the National Assembly on the 14th and urged the government to "resolve operating conditions and compensate for damage."

They said, "The PC room has a short time to stay, there is a divider, and even if we talk to each other, we don't face each other and talk with a headset." .

They appealed, "The 2 million won of the second disaster support fund paid to the discontinued PC room is very insufficient compared to the actual damage," and said, "Please actively review the amount of food intake and increase the amount of the second disaster support fund."

Game companies that operate PC online games are releasing their own PC cafe support programs one after another.

NMedia Platform, a subsidiary of Nexon, has decided not to receive administrative fees during the period of business interruption from affiliated PC rooms that use the PC room management program'GetO'.

Pearl Abyss has announced that it will support its representative PC games'Black Desert' and'Shadow Arena' for free for one month.

Affiliated PC cafe owners that service both games will receive free support from the 30th of this month to the 29th of the following month, when the Chuseok holiday begins.

Pearl Abyss discussed with the Internet PC Culture Association and added that the free application period was set as the preferred time for PC owners.

Kakao Games and PubG Co., Ltd. also decided to support PC cafes to service'Battle Ground' for a month starting from the 22nd of this month at no cost.
