“The specialists worked in the most difficult conditions: wind gusts reached 40-70 m / s at an air temperature of -20 ° C and wet snow, visibility did not exceed 1 m. During a search and rescue operation, a group of climbers on Mount Elbrus managed to save 14 people.
Unfortunately, five people died, ”the ministry said.
Earlier, a member of the tourist group, Ekaterina Reznikova, in an interview with the "360" TV channel, said that the incident occurred due to a sharp change in the weather on Elbrus.
