Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas decided yesterday to extend the state of emergency for a fourth month to face the threat of an outbreak of the Corona virus, while mosques in Gaza were completely reopened, while the Kingdom of Bahrain postponed the establishment of Friday prayers for a later time due to the high incidence of HIV infection.

In detail, the official Palestinian News Agency reported that President Abbas "issued a decree extending the state of emergency for thirty days, starting from June 4."

And she added that Abbas "issued a decision in a law ratifying this decree, in the context of combating the new epidemic of Corona."

For its part, Palestinian Health Minister Mai Kaileh announced that there was no record of infection with the Corona virus in the Palestinian territories from yesterday until yesterday afternoon.

Kaileh told the official Palestinian Radio, that the number of cases currently infected with Corona virus in the Palestinian territories is 94, after 527 patients recovered.

This comes at a time when the mosques in the Gaza Strip opened their doors completely yesterday to worshipers, after a temporary precautionary closure that lasted about 70 days to prevent the emerging corona virus.

Large numbers of worshipers performed the Fajr prayer, taking into account the preventive measures established by the Ministry of Endowments and Health in the Hamas government that controls the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry of Awqaf asked worshipers to bring a special rug to pray, put a protective muzzle, maintain spacing, avoid shaking, and not take children and patients to the mosque, calling on worshipers to adhere to preventive measures.

The ministry had stated in a previous statement that "mosque workers will sterilize it continuously and open it 10 minutes before the call to prayer, and reduce the waiting time between the call to prayer and the performance of the prayer."

Khadr Musa, 40, from Gaza City, said he was happy to return to pray in the mosques. He told «France Press»: «I performed the prayer, and I am very eager for the mosque and praying in it after a break.

The Gazan citizen expressed his fear of the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic in the sector, wishing "people should follow safety measures and not underestimate the preventive measures."

The Gaza Strip counted 61 new cases of coronavirus and one death, and 18 recoveries.

All those infected with the virus who have returned from travel are in a quarantine center near the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Interior in the sector announced the reopening of wedding halls starting from the fifth of June, on the condition that "precautionary measures be followed."

In Manama, the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments in Bahrain announced yesterday that it would wait for Friday prayers at this stage and postpone it until a later date.

The Bahraini News Agency (BNA) yesterday quoted the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments as saying that the decision came in light of the meeting held yesterday by the President of the Supreme Council of Health and the head of the National Medical Team to tackle Corona Virus, the team of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, with the Chairman of the Council Sunni Endowments, Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Muhammad Al-Hajri, and Chairman of the Jaafari Endowments Council, Yusef bin Saleh Al-Saleh, to review the developments of the national efforts to address the virus and the developments and reports on the current data that show the high incidence of corona virus infection as a result of gatherings during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, and added, “Accordingly, and in In light of the legitimate opinions issued by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs regarding the performance of acts of worship during the time of the spread of the Corona pandemic, and what was agreed upon at the meeting referred to between the head of the national medical team and the heads of endowments; The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments decided to wait until Friday prayers at this stage, and decided to postpone the decision to hold them to a later date after reviewing the developments and reports on the data at the time ».

She pointed out that the relevant decisions in this regard will be reviewed in accordance with the legal controls on an ongoing basis to preserve the health and safety of all.

The ministry had decided to hold Friday prayers only at this stage, starting from the fifth of June. In total, Bahrain recorded more than 12,000 cases of corona and 19 deaths, and the number of people recovered exceeded 7,000.
