At present, the Pearl River Committee still maintains the level IV emergency response for flood and drought disaster prevention, and has made preparations to send a working group and an expert group.

In view of the current flood control situation in the river basin, Wang Baoen, director of the Pearl River Committee, has presided over a flood control conference to implement the requirements of the Ministry of Water Resources on effectively doing a good job in the prevention of heavy rain and floods in the south, analyze and judge the flood control situation in the river basin, and further refine and implement flood and drought disaster prevention. measures.

It is 191 mm at Yangba Station in Ceheng County, Southwest Prefecture, and 184 mm at Qianshan Station in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province.

Affected by the heavy rainfall since the 25th, 22 rivers including Qingshui River, Mengjiang River and Tingjiang River have flooded beyond the warning level.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological and Hydrological Department, from May 28 to 30, there will still be heavy rainfall in the Xijiang River Basin, and there will be heavy to heavy rain in the lower reaches of Nanpan River, Beipan River, upper and middle reaches of Hongshui River, Liujiang River, and upper and middle reaches of Youjiang River. .

Affected by the rainfall, rivers such as the Panjiang River, Hongshui River, and Liujiang River in the north and south will experience significant flooding, and some small and medium-sized rivers in the rainstorm area may experience excessive flooding.

Wang Baoen pointed out that the heavy rainfall process has continued to occur in some areas of the basin recently, which can easily lead to floods in small and medium rivers and mountain torrents.

At present, the basin has entered a critical period for the defense of "Dragon Boat Water". We must resolutely implement the deployment requirements of the Ministry of Water Resources, and do our best to prevent floods and local heavy rainfall in the basin.

Wang Baoen requested to closely monitor the development and changes of the rainwater conditions in the basin, conduct consultations and judgments, and issue early warnings in a timely manner; and strengthen emergency duty and information reporting, keep abreast of flood conditions, dangers, and disasters in the basin, and ensure that information is reported as soon as possible.

At the same time, scientific and meticulous implementation of joint dispatching of reservoir groups will minimize flood risks, reduce disaster losses, and ensure the safety of flood control in river basins, key areas, and important infrastructure.

In addition, we will pay close attention to the weak links in flood control, focusing on mountain torrent disasters in areas with heavy rainfall and high bottom water in the early stage, defense of small and medium rivers, and safe flood control of small reservoirs to ensure the safety of people's lives.
