Jeju is gradually getting out of the sphere of influence of typhoon 'Chantu' on the afternoon of the 17th.

The Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration has changed the typhoon warning for the land of Jeju Island to a strong wind advisory and the typhoon warning for the western and northern seas to a wind storm warning, respectively, as of 1:00 pm today.

As of noon today, the typhoon is moving northeast at a speed of 27 km per hour in the sea about 120 km east of Seongsan.

As the rain cloud belt, which had sprung a lot of rain due to the influence of the typhoon, escaped to the east of Jeju Island, the rain in most areas of the province also subsided.

However, there may be places where the wind blows very strongly with a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 25 to 30 meters per second until this afternoon, and waves are expected to rise very high with a height of 3 to 8 meters by tonight.

After the typhoon, during the Chuseok holiday, it was predicted that the weather will be mostly clear and cool in Jeju due to the influence of high pressure.

However, on the 21st, the day of Chuseok, due to the influence of low pressure, it will rain in the morning for most of Jeju, and in the afternoon as the low pressure moves to the east, the rain may gradually stop and the sky condition may improve, the Korea Meteorological Administration said.
