Disney studios have announced the start of a new installment in the Star Wars saga. This episode, which should also serve as the first opus for a new trilogy, will be directed by Taika Waititi, who notably stood out with "Thor 3" and "Jojo Rabbit".

There will indeed be a new episode of Star Wars. After the release of the ninth installment in the saga at the end of 2019, many rumors were circulating about the possible start of a new trilogy, but here it is official. Disney studios will continue to expand the universe imagined by George Lucas.

Taika Waititi, director of Thor 3 and Jojo Rabbit , who received the Oscar for best adaptation, will direct the new Star Wars. It was chosen by LucasFilm and Disney. He will co-write the script with Krysty Wilson Cairns, scriptwriter of the masterful 1917 , directed by Sam Mendes.

No release date has been mentioned yet, but with the current context, it's a safe bet that this film does not arrive in dark rooms before 2022.
