In response to the national call to implement actions against the firms Bayer and Monsanto, baptized Bye Bayer, Ciao Monsanto, anti-pesticide activists were invited to the headquarters of the Bordeaux wine interprofession on Saturday evening.

A total of 12 of the 42 members from different collectives (Les Uprising of the Earth, Il Est Encore Temps, Extinction Rebellion, ANV COP21 Gironde, Yellow Vests) offered customers of the wine bar of the Bordeaux Wine Interprofessional Council (CIVB) to replace (with their permission) the contents of their glass with an organic wine, from 6:15 p.m. to 6:26 p.m.

“The action was accompanied by an exchange in order to explain the reason for this action”, relates the association on its Facebook page.

The other activists were placed in front of the wine bar with banners and flags in order to alert public opinion to the dangers of pesticides present in wine and “the wine industry in Gironde whose representatives sit on the CIVB”.
