Today, Monday, the voting on the UAE Pro League awards for the 2020-2021 sports season begins, and will continue until the fifth of August, in preparation for the announcement of the final lists of candidates, and then the winners in a ceremony to be held this month before the start of the new season 2021-2022.
The association confirmed that the voting will take place, as in previous years, via the official website and the association’s applications on smart phones, with the participation of the representatives of the clubs, namely the captain and coach of the team, the media and the fans.
The first version of the awards was launched in the 2012-2013 season, while it was withheld last season because the competition was not completed. The award categories are divided into three: awards based on statistics, awards according to criteria, and others according to voting.
The list of prizes for which the winners are decided by voting include: Golden Ball for the best Emirati player, Golden Ball for the best foreign player, Leader for the best coach, Golden Boy for the best Emirati promising player, Golden Glove for the best goalkeeper, best player of the fans’ choice, and the most beautiful goal And the best electronic sports platform, in addition to the award that was created this season, which is the golden boy for the best resident player or a native of the country.
The statistics-based awards include: Dream Team, Golden Boot for the league's top scorer, Silver Boot for U-21 top scorer and the Fantasy Dorina coach award.
As for the award according to the criteria, it is the award for the best professional club for the club that fulfills the criteria specified in the club licensing system in addition to the criteria for quality control, administrative penalties, cooperation and overall ranking in all competitions except for the super match.
