At 4.64 m long, the new Astra station wagon is 60 mm shorter than the previous model.

On the other hand, it is based on a longer wheelbase of 70 mm (2,732 mm), wheelbase which has also gained 57 mm compared to that of the sedan, in favor of space for the rear passengers.

In the 5-seater configuration, the boot offers 608 liters of usable volume and up to 1,634 liters with the bench seat folded down, a maneuver that frees up a perfectly flat floor.

With their lithium-ion battery under the floor, the rechargeable hybrid versions offer load volumes ranging from 548 to 1,574 litres.

The volume of the trunk of combustion engine versions is optimized thanks to the "Intelli-Space" system available as an option.

The position of this mobile loading floor can be changed with one hand from high to low position, or placed at a 45 degree angle.

Plus, for even greater convenience, the retractable cargo cover can be stowed when the moving floor is in the up or down position – unlike competitors who only allow the cargo cover to be stowed when the floor is in the raised position.

In addition to hybrid drive, the new Opel Astra Sports Tourer is available with particularly fuel-efficient petrol and diesel engines.

The powers range from 110 to 130 hp for the thermal versions and up to 165 kW (225 hp) for the rechargeable hybrid versions.

A 6-speed manual gearbox is mated as standard to petrol and diesel engines, while an 8-speed automatic gearbox (electrified on plug-in hybrids) is offered as an option on the most powerful engines.
