One dead and 10 injured in 4 traffic accidents in Dubai

The General Department of Traffic in Dubai Police confirmed the death of one person and the injury of 10 people with varying injuries in various accidents, finally, as a result of a tire explosion, not leaving enough distance between vehicles, and inattention, or negligence.

Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic, Colonel Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, said that the first accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon on Emirates Road after the Dubai Club Bridge towards the Emirate of Sharjah, between a light bus and a heavy truck, as a result of the truck stopping in the middle of the road due to the explosion of its tire, and then the bus collided with it from Al-Khalaf, pointing out that the accident resulted in the death of a person due to his severe injuries.

Seven others sustained moderate to minor injuries, while the bus and the truck sustained moderate damage.

He added that the second accident occurred in the evening of the same day on Ras Al Khor Street towards the University City Roundabout, when a minibus vehicle veered from its lane to the left and hit a concrete barrier, seriously injuring the driver.

Reports of traffic experts attributed the accident to a tire explosion.

Bin Suwaidan pointed out that a person was injured in a collision that also occurred on the same evening, between a car and a motorcycle in the Al Barsha area, due to not leaving enough distance, which led to the injury of the cyclist with moderate injuries.

He added that another accident occurred on an internal street in the "DAMAC Hills 2" area, due to the lack of attention of a light vehicle driver, which led to her colliding with the sidewalk and settling in the roundabout, and the driver was seriously injured, and the car was moderately damaged.
