A spokesman for Britain's Prince Harry and his wife Megan confirmed that the British prince and his wife met face to face with Queen Elizabeth yesterday.
The spokesman added that the couple passed through the UK while on their way to The Hague to attend the Invictus Games, adding that Harry had earlier expressed his hope to see his grandmother.
The British newspaper, The Sun, had reported the news of the trip, noting that Harry and Meghan also met Prince Charles during a visit to Windsor Castle, pointing out that it is the first joint trip the couple has made together to Britain since they gave up royal duties in March 2020.
Harry, who moved to the United States with Meghan, did not attend a memorial service last month for his grandfather, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who died in April last year.
His failure to attend the ceremony followed a dispute with the government over security protection measures.
The 95-year-old has problems with movement and did not attend the annual Holy Thursday mass at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle today.
She will also not attend Easter Sunday mass in Windsor.
