We fall from the clouds (absolutely not)!

Olympique de Marseille supporters will not be able to travel to Paris on Sunday for the Ligue 1 classic against PSG, according to a decree from the Ministry of the Interior published in the Official Journal on Saturday.

“On Sunday April 17, 2022, from midnight to midnight, the individual or collective travel, by any means, of any person claiming the status of supporter of Olympique de Marseille or behaving as such, is prohibited between municipalities. of the department of Bouches-du-Rhône, on the one hand, and the municipalities of the region of Ile-de-France, on the other hand”, specifies the ministerial decree published on the eve of the match scheduled for Sunday at 8:45 p.m.

Same sanction for the Lensois in Lille

This decision, now usual for matches between PSG and OM, historic rivals in the French football championship, is particularly justified by "animosity" and "strong antagonism" between the supporters of the two clubs.

The last PSG-OM classic in the presence of supporters of both teams dates back to February 28, 2018 and "eight members of the police were injured" that day, underlines the decree.

Several incidents involving supporters in Lyon, Nice, Marseille, Lens, Brest and Angers have taken place this season in Ligue 1, leading the Disciplinary Committee of the Professional Football League (LFP) to take numerous sanctions against against clubs.

The movement of Lensois supporters to Lille on Saturday (9:00 p.m.) for the North derby was also prohibited.
