Last month, the number of homes started nationwide increased by more than 7% over the same month last year for the fourth straight month.

However, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism says that it is necessary to pay close attention to the impact of the extension of the state of emergency and the addition of target areas on the housing market in the future.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the number of housing units started nationwide last month was 76,312, 7.3% higher than the same month last year, increasing for the fourth consecutive month.

Since it takes several months from ordering to starting construction of a house, the number of housing starts has been increasing recently, reflecting the recovery of orders when the state of emergency was lifted last year.

Looking at the breakdown, "rental houses" such as rental apartments increased by 11.8% from the same month last year to 29,802 units, and "owned houses" indicating custom-built houses also increased by 10.6% to 26,151 units.

On the other hand, the number of “for-sale housing” such as condominiums and built-for-sale housing decreased by 1.5% from the same month last year to 19,877 units.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, "The number of housing starts continues to pick up, but the extension of the state of emergency and the addition of target areas are expected to affect the housing market, so it is necessary to pay close attention to future trends." increase.
