From this Friday, the anti-Covid Novavax vaccine is offered free of charge in the two vaccination centers in the city of Nice, in addition to the others already available.

Its distribution had been validated by the High Authority for Health (HAS) in mid-January.

Health authorities hope Novavax will win over vaccine-hesitant people

This vaccine, which uses a “more classic” technology than that of Pfizer and Moderna with messenger RNA, “will be offered to all people aged 18 and over who explicitly request it as a primary vaccination”, specifies the town hall.

It is possible to go directly to the vaccination centers at 10 rue Hancy, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursdays and quai Lunel, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but the municipality asks to "favor registrations on the site".

For this fifth vaccine available in France, the administration of the two doses is done 21 days apart, recalls the city.

Health authorities recommend Novavax to those who have a contraindication to other available vaccines and hope that it will convince reluctant people to be vaccinated with messenger RNA vaccines.
