"Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" not only continued to lead the box office charts, but quickly surpassed its predecessor with more than $688 million worldwide.

  The North American box office statistics website boxofficemojo.com released the latest movie market data on May 15. The North American weekend box office (May 13-15) of 25 films reported about $89.55 million.

Among them, "Doctor Strange 2: The Multiverse of Madness", which entered its second release weekend, earned about $61 million, accounting for two-thirds of the total North American weekend box office this round.

  This latest fantasy adventure film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one of the "Most Powerful Money Printing Machines in Hollywood", sold more than $187 million at the box office within three days of its North American premiere on May 6, with a total of about 222 million in the week.
