The two stars, who got married in India, the actress' homeland, announced that they had raised funds to the tune of one million dollars to help populations affected by Covid-19.

The Priyanka Chopra Jonas Foundation has teamed up with the charity Give India to fund, among other things, the purchase of oxygen, tests and start vaccination centers.

Such a success that the star couple now want to go further and set a new goal: three million dollars, as they both announced. “Through some of the darkest days in our history, humanity has once again proven that we are better united (…) The money raised has already been deployed across the country in the form of oxygen concentrators, vaccines and much more. We can all continue to help, so let's not stop there, ”pleaded Priyanka Chopra.

According to Reuters, the death toll in India since the start of the pandemic has exceeded 250,000 this week.

On Tuesday, the country even broke its sad record for the number of deaths in a single day, with 4,205 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.

With 23 million cases nationwide during this pandemic, the health crisis shows no sign of abating.
