Defense electronics manufacturer Hensoldt has been the victim of a cyber attack in France.

This was aimed at the IT infrastructure of the French subsidiary Hensoldt Nexeya France, as the company announced on Thursday in Taufkirchen.

According to current knowledge, both of the company's data centers in France are affected.

According to the information, a considerable amount of data was likely tapped and systems encrypted.

The ongoing operations of Nexeya were affected by this cyber attack.

Hensoldt has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the incident, in close cooperation with the responsible authorities.

A task force is working together with internal and external experts and data forensic scientists to verify the origin, scope and extent of the attack.

At the same time, work is being done to restore ongoing operations at Nexeya.

According to the company, the IT infrastructure and data of other companies in the Hensoldt Group are not affected.
