New York police reported on the 12th local time that the suspect had been arrested.

  According to reports, the police said both cases occurred on Metro Line 7.

The first case occurred during the morning rush hour on the 10th.

The 32-year-old suspect was accused of approaching a 62-year-old male passenger with a knife on a southbound Line 7 train and slashing his face and hands in multiple places.

The suspect then got off at Queens Square Station and fled the station.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

  About 24 hours later, the suspect committed the crime again, stabbing a 55-year-old male passenger waiting for a bus on the northbound platform of the 74th Street-Broadway station on the 7 line, police said.

The passenger was also taken to hospital for treatment in serious but stable condition.

  The suspect has been arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder, assault, and unlawful possession of a weapon, the report said.

  Earlier this year, an Asian woman was pushed off a New York subway platform to her death.

On April 12, a shooting occurred at a subway station in Brooklyn, New York, killing 10 people and injuring at least 29.

On May 22, another shooting occurred on a moving subway in New York, killing a man after being shot.
