Bremen (AP) - A naval ship for Egypt has experienced the modern replacement of a launch in the Neustädter Hafen in Bremen.

During Tuesday's afternoon flood, a pontoon was lowered beneath the frigate and the 120-meter ship successfully floated up.

The Meko 200 warship is being built on behalf of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS / Kiel) at the Stahlbau Nord shipyard in Bremerhaven.

There, however, the harbor was too shallow for the first swim test, so the pontoon was towed to Bremen by ship.

The frigate is to be brought back to Bremerhaven from Neustädter Hafen for final equipment.

According to press reports, Stahlbau Nord is producing three such frigates for Egypt.

They have an estimated unit price of 500 million euros.
