China News Agency, Tianjin, June 9 (Wang Zaiyu) The reporter learned from the Tianjin Cultural Heritage Protection Center that in May 2022, with the approval of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, the Tianjin Cultural Heritage Protection Center will join the Jizhou District Cultural Heritage Protection Center to The official archaeological excavation of the North Cemetery of Baimaquan Village has been carried out. At present, more than 30 tombs of the Eastern Han, Tang, Liao and Ming and Qing dynasties have been cleaned up, and nearly 200 cultural relics specimens have been unearthed.

The North Cemetery of Baimaquan Village is located in the north of Baimaquan Village, Chengguan Town, Jizhou District, at the foot of Fujun Mountain and about 1,000 meters away from Dule Temple in Jizhou District.

In the 1990s, the Tianjin archaeological department excavated two Tang Dynasty tombs in the southeast of Baimaquan Village adjacent to the cemetery.

In 2021, due to the needs of construction projects, the Tianjin Cultural Heritage Protection Center will conduct an archaeological exploration of the north cemetery of Baimaquan Village and discover 60 ancient tombs in different periods.

Yin Chenglong, head of the archaeological excavation site at the Baimaquan Village North Cemetery of the Tianjin Cultural Heritage Protection Center, said in an interview with reporters: "This time, four Han tombs have been discovered during the archaeological excavation of the Baimaquan Village North Cemetery, three of which have been cleaned up. The tombs are relatively well preserved, and the combination of the artifacts unearthed in the tombs is in good condition, which is of great help for dating and identity confirmation. According to the preliminary judgment of the burial objects in the tombs, the identity of the owners of these three Han tombs should be the small landlord class of the Han Dynasty.”

Among the Han tombs excavated this time, M12 is a single-chamber tomb, consisting of a tomb passage, a corridor, a tomb chamber, and an east ear chamber. The plane is in the shape of a knife. The top of the tomb chamber has collapsed. Pottery pots, basins, burials, plates, cases, ear cups, spoons, warehouses, stove wells, circles, animal figurines, bronze mirrors, copper coins, stone daisies, research utensils, etc., mainly located on the Ming ware platform and ear wares on the south side of the tomb near the room.

M10 is a two-chamber tomb in the front and back. It consists of a tomb passage, a corridor, an antechamber and a rear chamber. The front chamber is a horizontal rectangle, the rear chamber is a vertical rectangle, and the front and rear chambers are connected by a corridor. Burial objects include pottery urns, pots, basins, boxes, plates, cases, ear cups, warehouses, stoves, wells, copper coins, etc., which are mainly located in the front room.

M7 is a two-chamber tomb with double rear chambers, front and rear chambers. It consists of tomb passage, corridor, front chamber and double rear chamber. There is a passage between the front chamber and the double rear chamber. The front chamber is a horizontal rectangle, and the second rear chamber is a vertical rectangle. There are coffin marks left on the floor tiles in the right rear room, and the funeral objects include pottery pots, basins, plates, cases, ear cups, warehouses, stoves, wells, copper coins, etc., which are mainly located in the front room.

According to reports, the shape of the three tombs of the Han Dynasty showed the characteristics of "house-like", and no imitation pottery and ritual ware were found in the funerary objects, but the practical ones were mainly daily utensils and model objects, reflecting the characteristics of "life-like". .

According to the distribution law of the three tombs, it may be a family cemetery.

In addition to the Han tombs, this archaeological excavation also includes tombs of the Tang, Liao, Ming and Qing dynasties.

Up to now, 10 Tang Dynasty tombs have been cleaned up, and the distribution is relatively scattered and severely damaged.

Two tombs of the Liao Dynasty were cleaned up, and the damage was serious.

More than 10 tombs in Ming and Qing Dynasties were cleaned up.

The total number of tombs found in the Tang and Liao (Song) periods in Tianjin area is relatively small. This archaeological exploration focused on the discovery of nearly 20 tombs in the Tang and Liao periods at one time, which was unprecedented in the past.

Although the tombs were severely damaged by robbery and harassment, and there were few burial objects, the basic shape and structure of the tombs were clear, and the characteristics of the unearthed relics were obvious, which provided a rare object for the establishment of the archaeological chronology scale and comprehensive research of the tombs of the Tang and Liao Dynasties in Tianjin. material.
