China News Service, September 28. The National Development and Reform Commission held a press conference on the 28th to introduce the implementation progress of the "Rural Revitalization Strategic Plan (2018-2022)".

Wu Xiao, director of the Rural Economy Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, said at the meeting that in recent years, on the basis of continuing to consolidate and expand the achievements of poverty alleviation, the National Development and Reform Commission has made great efforts to build a long-term mechanism for farmers to continue to increase income and narrow the income gap between urban and rural residents.

The first is to expand and strengthen the modern planting and breeding industry and agricultural product processing industry, further promote the integrated development of rural industries, improve the mechanism of linking farmers with agriculture, and increase the operating income of farmers' families.

The second is to vigorously carry out training for migrant workers, improve the employment service system, promote the method of food-for-work, strengthen the construction of entrepreneurial parks for returning to their hometowns, expand employment and entrepreneurial channels for farmers, and increase farmers' wage income.

In 2021, wage income will account for more than 42% of farmers' income, becoming the main channel for farmers to increase their income.

The third is to improve the policy of strengthening farmers, benefiting farmers and enriching farmers, and increasing farmers' transfer income.

In 2021, the per capita transfer income of farmers will reach 3,937 yuan, an increase of more than 1,300 yuan over 2017.

Fourth, revitalize rural resource assets and expand farmers' property income.

We will carry out the inventory and capital verification of rural collective assets, steadily advance the reform of the cooperative system for collective operating assets, and promote the members of collective economic organizations to share dividends and make profits.

Wu Xiao introduced that from 2017 to 2021, the per capita disposable income of rural residents nationwide increased from 13,432 yuan to 18,931 yuan, with an average annual real growth of 6.6%, nearly 2 percentage points higher than that of urban residents.

In the first half of this year, the growth rate of farmers' income continued to be 2.3 percentage points higher than that of urban residents.
