Nahyan bin Zayed approves the draft budget of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for the year 2023
His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, praised the generous support that the sports sector receives from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and his generous sponsorship of development programs aimed at translating the vision of the wise leadership in building a sports and healthy society.
This came during His Highness presiding over the periodic meeting of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s Board of Directors, which was held yesterday at the council’s headquarters, in the presence of the members: Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi, Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, Muhammad Al Nuaimi, Dr. Omniyat Al Hajri, and Muslim Al Ameri, in addition to the Council’s Secretary General Aref Al Awani, and Executive Director of the Sector Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence Ahmed Al Hosani, and the Executive Director of the Support Services Sector in the Council Ahmed Al Qubaisi.
The meeting witnessed a review of the general performance indicators of sports clubs in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in terms of administrative, financial and control aspects, and His Highness recommended the necessity of activating the internal audit committees in these clubs, in support of an advanced sports system that preserves achievements and works to achieve more successes.
His Highness approved the draft budget of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for the year 2023, with all its various programmes, initiatives, activities and events, aimed at achieving the Abu Dhabi government's strategy to preserve the health of the population within the health strategy, and raise the level of physical activity and community sports, in addition to continuing with plans to attract the elite of major international sporting events that contribute to supporting resources economy of the emirate.
