“NABU today filed a lawsuit against the permit issued by the Federal Office for Shipping and Hydrography for the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
The lawsuit concerns a still unfinished section of the pipeline in the exclusive economic zone of Germany, ”the organization’s website said in a statement.
On April 13, another German environmental organization, Deutsche Umwelthilfe, also filed a complaint with the court demanding to cancel the regulator's decision to authorize the construction of Nord Stream 2 in the waters of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Earlier, ex-Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl said in an interview with RT that US sanctions against Nord Stream 2 grossly violate international law. According to her, Washington extends the boundaries of its jurisdiction to foreign citizens and companies that do not fall under it.
