Humans throughout history have always been fascinated by stories about mythical places and lost cities, and these mythical sites occupied a place in the history of various cultures, as some represented symbols of more prosperous and peaceful times, while others were places to be found and seized, and the following are the most famous mythical places in the scientist.

In a report published by the American "bigthink" website, writer Mike Collagrossi said that philosophers weaved tales about these lost cities that captivated many, even prompting some people to believe in their existence again, including: El Dorado, Shambhala / Shangri-La, and Thuli.

1- El Dorado

El Dorado first appeared as a story about a king named "The Gilded One" who is said to cover his body in gold dust and throw ornate jewels into a lake as part of his coronation celebration, and this story has morphed into the legend of an entire kingdom rather than the story of one man.

The golden city captivated the minds of many adventurers, and it was said that El Dorado is located next to Lake Guatavita in Colombia, and when the explorers found the lake, they lowered the water level to find hundreds of gold pieces without any trace of the legendary city.

Thuli was a place of interest to many explorers, poets, and even occultists. It is said that this region is located in the frozen north near the North Pole. The story dates back to the fourth century BC, when a Greek explorer named Pythias claimed that he had traveled to an icy island north of Scotland.

Many of Pythias' fellow explorers questioned his claims, but the legend of Thuli persisted through the ages, and eventually the original location of the island was thought to be most likely either Norway or Iceland.

3- Shambhala / Shangri-La

Shambhala is a Sanskrit word that means “place of peace.” Legend has it that Shambhala is a paradise where only the purest of creatures can live because it is a place overflowing with love and wisdom, and there is no old age or suffering.

Also known as "Shangri-La", this place has been given many names over the years, sometimes called the "Forbidden Land" and other times the "Land of the Radiant Spirits".

And for some time, many Westerners thought it was a real place hidden deep in the mountains of Tibet.
