Mystery in the English Channel.

A passenger plane with two people on board is still wanted at sea on Monday between France and England.

Its last known position on Saturday was nearly 40 kilometers off Dungeness in the far south-east of England.

He completely disappeared from the radar.

The Dauphin helicopter of the French Navy flew over the area several times, in vain, said the maritime prefecture of the Channel and the North Sea.

A British drone was also engaged in the area, as well as the rescue boat Abeille Languedoc, and a British Coastguard plane.

Without results.

The plane, a Piper PA-28, left Saturday from Wellesbourne (United Kingdom) to the seaside resort of Le Touquet (Pas-de-Calais).

Registered in Britain, it was flying with five other light aircraft on a joint outing.

The airmen would have been confronted with “a big cloud of snow”

According to British media, the plane belonged to Guy Wakeley, 51, a business executive in the financial sector.

Anyone discovering debris is asked to contact the Regional Operational Center for Surveillance and Rescue (Cross) Gris-Nez by VHF channel 16 or by telephone by dialing 196, requests the maritime prefecture.

According to

La Voix du Nord

, the airmen would have been confronted with "a big cloud of snow" on Saturday.

Some would have turned around, others would have tried to go around it, but this Piper would have decided to cross it.
