Mortada Mansour punishes Zamalek players with harsh decisions

The board of directors of the Egyptian club Zamalek issued strong and urgent decisions after a big loss against Al-Mahalla in the League Cup.

Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek club, announced a deduction of 250 thousand pounds (about 16 thousand dollars) from each player in the team, in addition to a half-month deduction from the salary of French coach Patrice Carteron and his assistant staff, according to the club’s official website.

According to a number of local newspapers.

Carteron receives a monthly salary of $150,000 per month, and has assumed his duties since March 12, 2021, coming from Saudi cooperation.

Also, Mortada Mansour decided to offer two players for sale (whose names were not revealed), stressing in a tweet on his Twitter account that these decisions come against the background of the poor level that the team showed in the League Cup.

Earlier, Ghazl El-Mahalla defeated Zamalek with three clean goals in the match that brought them together in the third round of Group C competitions in the Egyptian Professional Clubs League Cup.

Thus, Al-Abyad's balance froze at one point in sixth and last place, after suffering the second defeat in a row.
