This survey was conducted by the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry from July to August, targeting more than 6,000 small and medium-sized enterprises nationwide, and received responses from 2,880 companies.



Among them, when asked about the situation of labor shortage, 64.9% of companies answered that there is a shortage of workers, which is approaching the highest level of 66.4% since the survey began in 2016.

By industry, 77.6% were in the construction industry, 76.6% in the transportation industry, and 73.9% in the accommodation and restaurant industry, which has been severely affected by the corona crisis. It can be seen that the situation is becoming serious again.
