China News Service, Beijing, September 15 (Reporter Zhang Su) As of August this year, there are 10,145 people's courts in operation in China.

From 2016 to 2020, 20.408 million cases were accepted by the people's courts nationwide, and 20.275 million cases were concluded.

He Xiaorong, vice president of the Supreme People's Court of China, introduced relevant data at a press conference on the 15th.

He said that the people's courts enter the countryside, communities, and networks, play the role of judicial participation, promotion, standardization, and protection, and improve the level of legalization of grassroots social governance.

Regarding the "Opinions of the Supreme People's Court on Promoting the High-Quality Development of People's Courts in the New Era" (hereinafter referred to as "Opinions") released that day, He Xiaorong said that this is a milestone and epoch-making significance in the history of the development of the Chinese People's Courts.

There are 35 articles in the "Opinions", including active service to comprehensively promote rural revitalization, active service to grassroots social governance, and deepening of personnel management mechanism reforms.

The "Opinions" also put forward a series of innovative measures to alleviate people's worries, such as promoting cross-domain case filing services in the people's courts.

Wei Langping, director of the Comprehensive Office of the First Civil Tribunal of the Supreme People's Court of China, talked about "strengthening the judicial protection of people's livelihood" when answering questions.

He said that the "Opinions" clearly deepen the reform of family trials, such as making good use of psychological counseling interventions, family investigations, pre-litigation mediation, post-case return visits and other measures to increase the implementation of the personal safety protection order system to protect left-behind children, left-behind women, and left-behind women.
