In May, 142 new companies were registered in the county, which is three percent more than the same month last year when 138 new companies were registered. It shows figures from the Swedish Companies Registration Office that companies Visma compiled.

- Four out of five jobs are created in SMEs, but now many of them are struggling to get through the corona crisis. Therefore, it is more important than ever that Swedes start more new companies that can contribute to employment and welfare, says Boo Gunnarson, entrepreneurial expert at Visma Spcs.

Decrease in the country as a whole

In total in the country, the number of newly registered companies decreased by 12 percent in May, from 5,602 to 4,955. Between January and May this year, 31,675 new companies have been registered in country, an increase of four percent compared to the same period last year.

When it comes to the number of bankruptcies in the country, they slowed down in May and increased only by five percent compared to May last year.
