Sentenced last January to pay 8.5 million euros to TF1, the French streaming platform Molotov has just reached an agreement with the TV group.

Molotov will thus be able to continue to offer the TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films and LCI channels.

But the conditions of this agreement are more restrictive than before.

Sentenced to pay 7 million euros to the M6 group in December 2021, the Molotov streaming platform had signed an agreement to continue broadcasting M6, W9, 6Ter and Gulli a fortnight later.

The situation is now repeated with the TF1 group.

Justice had sentenced Molotov last January to pay 8.5 million euros to TF1 for having broadcast its channels for free when the signed agreement had come to an end.

A new agreement has just been found between the platform and the TF1 group.

Monday, Molotov indicated that it was now forced to distribute the unencrypted channels of the TF1 group in its pay offers.

Only users paying for a subscription to the application will therefore be able to continue to access the TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films and LCI channels.

An increasingly limited free offer

A situation that Molotov regrets.

This platform created in 2016 relied on free content for its users.

On Twitter, the company writes, "we regret this situation as much as you do".

The agreement reached with M6 included the same conditions, and Molotov's free offer is becoming more and more restricted.

Users of Molotov's free offer have access to all DTT channels, except TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films, LCI, M6, W9, 6Ter and Gulli.
