More than 20 million people in 59 countries benefited from Dubai Cares programs in 2019, and the Foundation invested more than 21 million dirhams to support research in improving the quality of education in schools. It also launched 29 new educational programs in 23 countries, and has built and restored more than two thousand classrooms and schools in many developing societies, in addition to organizing training and qualification programs for teachers, providing school meals for students in poor communities, distributing 6.9 million books to needy students, and supporting students Affected by natural disasters by providing alternative educational solutions. The Foundation launched the 2019 edition of the "World Knowledge Index" for sustainable development, which includes 136 countries, and organized the "Literacy Challenge Forum" in its first edition in partnership with the United Nations Development Program and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization "UNESCO". The Foundation also launched the "Digital Knowledge Center" initiative as an improved version of the "Dubai Digital Library", providing free access to more than 2.6 million digital items and about 250,000 book titles, in 2019 more than 158,000 people from all over the world benefited.
