Salah scored a goal during Liverpool's 3-1 victory over its guest Wolverhampton, while Son scored two goals during Tottenham's 5-0 sweeping victory over its host Norwich City.

Salah was crowned the award for the first time in the 2017/2018 season, after he scored 32 goals in the tournament at the time, to become the owner of the largest number of goals during one season with the championship system, which includes 20 teams.

Salah also won the award for the second time the following season, when he shared it with Senegalese Sadio Mane, his teammate in Liverpool, and Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the former Arsenal striker, with 22 goals each.

Salah became the third player to win the award for the third time, after the English stars Harry Kane and Alan Shearer, knowing that he is the first player from Liverpool to achieve this achievement.

And French star Thierry Henry, the retired Arsenal star, is still the record holder as the most decorated player with the award, having won it 4 times.
