Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence opens the doors for applications for the Fall 2021 cohort

 Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, the world's first university for postgraduate studies specialized in artificial intelligence research, has announced the opening of applications for the fall class of 2021, as the accepted students will begin their study journey in the field of artificial intelligence at the university's campus in Masdar City.

The university recently decided to increase the number of students eligible for admission for the first academic year, scheduled to start in January 2021, to 100 students, as about 90% of them have so far accepted the MBZU's proposal for artificial intelligence.

2,223 students from 97 different nationalities have applied to enroll in the university, noting that the students eligible for admission come from 31 countries, most of which are located outside the MENA region.

On this occasion, Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, said: “In line with the vision of wise leadership, the Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence seeks to build and refine the skills necessary to move to the next stage of growth, progress and development. Hence the importance of building human cadres and providing them with technical skills and expertise to enable them to contribute to the development of the industrial sector in the UAE and enrich our capabilities in the fields of research and development, and thus upgrading sectors. "Obtaining a certificate from the Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence will allow graduates to acquire skills and competencies to unleash the full potential of artificial intelligence for the benefit of the population, society and economy in the UAE and abroad."

Since its launch in October 2019, Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence has achieved many important achievements, including the completion of its advanced campus in Masdar City and the completion of the acceptance of the first batch of students.

In addition to appointing faculty members and a senior management team that includes the most prominent experts, Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence has obtained accreditation and license for the Academic Accreditation Authority in the UAE, and launched a series of online sessions with the participation of a group of experts with the aim of enhancing awareness about artificial intelligence.

The university has also entered into a number of strategic partnerships in the fields of research and innovation related to artificial intelligence with international institutions, such as "Virgin Hyperloop", and has hosted many delegations of international political and academic leaders.

Students accepted for the Fall 2021 cohort will begin their studies at the Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence within the Master of Science and PhD programs in Computer Vision and Machine Learning.

The students will spend their educational journey at a technologically advanced and environmentally friendly campus located in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. The campus includes classrooms, futuristic research laboratories, an artificial intelligence knowledge center, and recreational facilities.

The Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence is the first university in the UAE to be developed using urban software to build and manage a flexible technological infrastructure and to provide services continuously.

Students applying for master's programs at the university are required to hold a bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines, and hold a master’s degree in relevant fields for doctoral programs.
