His Highness congratulated the delegation, during the meeting that took place at Qasr Al Bahr, for the Olympics winning the “Healthy Society Award for the year 2021”, which is granted by the “Special International Olympics” to the countries that implement the program of the same name “Healthy Society”, praising the efforts of everyone who contributed to achieving this. This achievement comes in appreciation of the UAE Special Olympics' commitment to improving the quality of life for people of determination, making the UAE the first country in the Middle East and North Africa to achieve this title in its first year of implementation.

The International Special Olympics praised the UAE's commitment to designing and implementing the "Healthy Society" program, with the aim of establishing an inclusive society in which comprehensive, high-quality health care services are available for people of determination with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The International Special Olympics designed the "Healthy Communities" program, in cooperation with the Golisano Foundation, to address the problems caused by disparities and differences in the level of health services provided to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities around the world, by providing immediate and long-term community solutions, and providing preventive education and training programs for specialists. These initiatives included conducting comprehensive examinations within the oral and dental health program, the “strong minds” program for mental health, in addition to the “cooking club” programs to educate people of determination about proper nutrition, and the “gardening” program to promote mental health during the pandemic period, in addition to several training programs.
