On September 27, Qiu Baoli, director of the "Hundred Days Action" Office of the Ministry of Public Security and director of the Public Security Administration, said that the level of criminal violence in China is low.
Mainly in three aspects: First, eight major criminal cases, including homicide, injury, rape, robbery, arson, explosion, kidnapping, and hijacking, have been in a long-term downward trend, with a year-on-year decrease of 7.8% from January to August this year.
Second, the number of homicides is low. Last year, there were 0.5 homicides per 100,000 people in the country, one of the lowest homicide rates in the world, far lower than in the United States and the West.
The third is that there are few cases of explosive and gun-handling crimes. The public security organs have carried out special campaigns to arrest and control explosions for 21 consecutive years, and the number of explosive and gun-handling crimes has decreased year by year.
