The Ministry of National Defense’s Power Resources Management Office and Defense Reform Office will be relocated to the annex of the Ministry of National Defense (Gu Office) in Yongsan.
Other departments are distributed at the Army Center and the National Defense Convention.
The Ministry of National Defense facilities headquarters, part of the service support group, other units directly under the direct control, and some support departments currently in the annex will be relocated to the former Defense Acquisition Program Administration building in Huam-dong, Yongsan.
It is known that 456 people from 6 institutions (units) will fit into this building.
The Defense Technology Support Center located in the former Bangsa Administration building will be moved to the site of the Korea Meteorological Administration, and the Armed Forces Welfare Center, the National Defense University Finance and Economics Learning Center, and the Bangsa Administration Education Center will be reduced in space.
However, the relocation of the Ministry of National Defense command department and the Joint Chiefs of Staff will begin after completing the construction of essential security facilities at the end of this month, when the ROK-U.S. joint exercise ends.
Major command departments such as the Defense Minister's Office, Defense Policy Office, and Planning Coordination Office, located on the 2nd to 4th floors of the main building, plan to move to the adjacent Joint Chiefs of Staff building on the 28th after the first half of the joint exercise ends.
As the Department of Defense command departments move into the Joint Chiefs of Staff building, other departments, except for the intelligence, operations, and command and control departments of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will be relocated to the facility headquarters building on the territory of the Ministry of National Defense.

A total of 6,500 people are working in 16 units within the premises.
When the Office of the President enters Yongsan, the space will be separated by installing a fence between the Ministry of National Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Presidential Office.
Earlier, at today's extraordinary cabinet meeting, the government decided to spend 36 billion won in reserve funds for the relocation of the presidential office to Yongsan.
